Okay, so I'm a little bit crazy to be knitting a scarf in May/nearly June.  But RecycleMicol sent me some gorgeous handspun yarn for a personal swap, and it was taunting me with its purpley-lace-weighty-goodness.

This is the first time I've knit lace, and I really enjoyed the pattern.  It was not too complex, but entertaining as well.  By the 23rd pattern repeat, though, I was getting pretty bored.

I used the Marnie's scarf pattern, from SpinDyeKnit's blog, here: http://spindyeknit.com/patternfiles/marnie/ , and laceweight handspun from RecycleMicol.

Onward to the pictures.

Pre-blocking.  Looks like a snake.

Obligatory action shot.

Excuse the futzy edges...my tension was not even side to side, and I didn't pin out every single loop, so they're a bit uneven.  Thanks for looking!

Oh, wow!  That almost brought a tear to my eye!!!  I can't tell you how rewarding that is to see.  I had not seen a project completed with my yarn before!

What a rush for a new spinner!!!  Thank you so much for posting it.  Amazing work for your first lace!  You've inspired me to break out the pattern books and try my hand at knitted laces.

Thanks again!

Oh wow, RM, I missed the fact that it was from your yarn. Wow! That's amazing! The colorway is simply gorgeous.

Thank you!  And thanks again for the yarn, it was fantastic to work with.  I still have a bit left...I'll have to figure out what to do with that.  Grin

Very nice work! I've had my eye on that pattern for a while, but never imagined it would look so nice in a variegated yarn.

Yes, I'm not usually a big fan of variegated yarns.  They seem to always pool in unfortunate patterns for me.  But I guess the color changes and different hues were subtle enough that you got a really nice effect from it.

The one-of-a-kind yarn makes it totally unique, and the pattern makes it very sophisticated!
