Ok so it's a day of firsts... already posted my recent first Xstitch. Now here is my first attempt at embroidery. I had a little trouble getting my backstitches even (any suggestions or tips?). Please give me any pointers or areas where I can improve. Smiley

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

needlecrafter.com  It has a ton of free vintage patterns. And I think there are 4 total pinup girls doing different things. There is even one where she's holding something that looks a bit... um... naughty (that pin up girl has frequented the site). Just go to designs ---> people  ---> not sure which page they are on but you an scroll through. Smiley

Thanks for the lead on the patterns!  I love antique patterns like that but they are hard to find.

Your work is really good. Especially for the first time out! The only suggestion I can make about the back stitches is practise, practise, practise.  I try to do my stitched in one pass opposed to once down and once up.  I find it's easier for me to keep an even stitch.

What are you going to use your pin-up girl for?  She would make a fund dish towel for the kitchen!

I will definitely try your method of backstitching and will keep at it! I'm not sure what I'm going to use her for yet.... I'm actually considering making a series of pin up girls and hanging them up in my bathroom or something. They are just soooo cute!

I really do think that I've found my favorite craft yet! I can't put it down!!
