For anyone who is interested, Philadelphia Sewing Collective has a Monday Night Sewing Cafe at the Old Pine Community Center.  The sewing cafe is held every 4th Monday from 7:30 to 10:00 PM.

It's free to everyone and not just related to sewing, although that is the primary focus.  PSC members are on hand to help out any guests with project questions.

Our next sewing cafe will be held on Monday 9/25 from 7:30 to 10:00 PM.  Old Pine is located at 401 Lombard Street.  Come out to meet us and bring a project to work on!!

If anyone lives out in W. Philly (near U Penn), I'm up for meeting up informally.  I plan to make a lot of gifts for christmas this year and it's nice to work with others.  I'm teaching myself macrame.

Dang, I *just* missed the sewing cafe.

And I also have to miss the October group, boo (I'll be in Vegas for work on October 23rd).

Sigh, maybe November. I've been meaning to check out what's what at the Old Pine center, since I live literally 2 blocks from there.

The November cafe will be held on Monday, 11/20 (pushed up a week because of Thanksgiving) and the theme will be Holiday Gifts.  Hopefully you can come to that one!

We'll also have a number of classes in November and December.  I hope to have the schedule up by this weekend.

I just moved to Philly from the Allentown area.

I'll definitely try to make it to the next PSC cafe.  I'm just down the street on Lombard, also.
I mostly reconstruct clothing, I also do a little beading.  Excited to meet some crafty people in my neighborhood(!)

Oh, man, see what I miss when I lock myself in my studio and keep off the boards for months at a time? Well. I wish I had seen this about 12 days ago, but I am definately going to try and come the January Sewing Cafe.

In the meantime, if anyone is interested in getting together for holiday crafting, let me know.  I'm in West Philly am capable of crossing the river (although rather slowly) with the aid of my trusty three-speed cruiser and/or SEPTA.

I'm kind of new to posting things on these boards, but why not?

I'm at Temple & I'd be more than interested in getting together to craft.  Just had a program in my building to learn to crochet, but all we got were printouts and supplies.  Kind of disappointing.

I'm going through some serious craft withdrawal being away from my sewing machine and basement full of fabric and supplies.

I seriously need someone to show me how to use my sewing machine. I tried making a pillow the other night, and it came out all wonky. How hard is a pillow! Ack!

So what are you, a mod or a rocker?
Six of one, half a dozen of the other, really.
