Lovely pieces-- I particularly love the small travel case in the green and pink toile!

Also, thanks for sharing the atmospheric railroad track pic. Stuff like that, how can you not smile?

I keep saying it: decoupage is great-- there is just no end to what you can do with it.

(Now I wonder why I have "Last Train to Clarksville" running through my head?) :-)

Thanks!  I also did these wooden pieces, using actual poster prints, so when it comes to decoupage, there is no paper too large to use.  I like to wad the paper up into a ball to soften it and "age" it, smooth it out, then glue it on.  When I'm decoupaging papers this large, I use my fingers on top of the print, swirling the glue in small circular motion, pushing out the bubbles, and causing it to look old and canvas-like.  Does that make sense?  Especially with this type of art.  But with the suitcases, I liked the soft matte look with the crispy clean scrapbook papers, so instead of putting decoupage glue on top to seal it, I used matte spray acrylic sealer.  And no way would I put it in on the conveyor belt on an airplane.  Those guys really know how to tear up luggage.

Happy decoupage, everyone!

Thanks for sharing your technique. Sometimes my decoupage comes out all crinkle and bubbly unintentionally. I like how you age it and you use your fingers to push it out!

Gorgeous!

I love what you did with those cases. Glad to see I'm not the only one who snatches up suitcases to use for storing my craft stuff.  Grin

Those are so pretty! I have a kinda grungy looking vintage train case that I wasn't sure what to do with. Now I'll be looking out for some paper that catches my eye so I can get decoupaging.

I've always wanted to decoupage an old guitar case I have... this has inspired me. Beautiful!
