cowgirlz101...to try to answer your question of distressing: I just 'mess' with them, lightly spraying water over the ink and rubbing with old rags, taking a fine grit sandpaper and running it across the entire surface, using the edge of my Xacto knife and peeling some paint away...anything that roughs it up, wears it down, and makes it look like it as 'a history' rather than a newly created piece. I love to create things that look like they might have been found in someone's attic or basement - rather than newly purchased off a store shelf  I hope I've answered it well enough for you?

These a beautiful little pieces, and their size makes them so much more intimate, and easy to display in multiples or save. What a neat idea - I also bet it's might be less overwhelming to attempt a matchbook than an entire altered book.
