The apron was a brithday gift for a friend who is a great cook. Luckliy, she loved the apron! The red fabric use to be curtains, but I really can't imagine them in my or anyone elses house. The rickrack was added, because well..I love rickrack and every apron needs some. The ties are long enough to tie in a big fat bow in the back. Next, bring on the cupcakes! ( and cookies and pie and other tasty baked goods!)

Waist aprons are cute but personally I find that if I'm going to spill something - I do it on my chest Cheesy so there wouldn't be much point.
Nice fabrics though!

I am glad you like the fabric! I find that aprons are best for wiping my hands on and helping me look smashing in the kitchen. I end up spilling stuff plenty, but rarely on the apron.
