Details of swap:

This is the 1st Magic Roving Ball Swap!!  Weve all heard of the ever popular Magic Yarn Ball swaps, right?  This is the same idea, but for spinners and felters and all lovers of fiber! This means that you wind the roving into a ball yourself, hiding little trinkets and treats inside the ball as you go.  Some ideas already suggested include tiny toys; candy; crafting supplies; jewelry; hairthings. Since this swap is geared towards spinners and felters, it would be nice to include little goodies that are aimed towards these craftssome ideas might be: beads and threads that could be spun into designer yarns, handspun yarn, felting needles etc.  Get creative!

There is a great thread about great online sources for roving on the spinning board http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=70992.0

Since we're all crafty people, it goes without saying that we should craft some of the treats ourselves. I suggest, as a guideline, 10-15 things in the yarn ball and 2-3 of them be small crafts made by yourself. Feel free to exceed these guidelines (though, as with all swaps, don't go too overboard), and check out the Magic Yarn Ball galleries for inspiration. If you spend more money or time on some things, they might count for a little more, but since the point of this swap is to have lots and lots of tiny items for itty-bitty doses of joy, it's more in keeping with the spirit of the swap to make things small and have more of them.

We will be swapping a minimum of 4 oz of roving. However, there is a question on the sign-up questionnaire about whether you are willing or interested in swapping for more. If this interests you, give a range of how much roving you want to swap. and I'll do my best to match people up by that.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?
Are you a spinner, felter, or other crafter that uses roving?
If you spin, do you use a spindle or a wheel or both?
Are you interested in negotiating for a more than 4 oz of roving? About how much?:
Favorite colors:
Preferred fiber types (e.g. wool, silk, mohair etc):
Any fiber (or other) allergies?:
Any cats or other common allergens in your home?:

Well, I would, but we just put in a bid for a new house, and so we might be moving this month.  I want to make sure that i'll have enough time and money to send a good package....

(The house we are trying to buy is just down the street from a yarn/spinning shop...and so it is heaven....)
