I agree with the personal tool aspect of Ravelry. I've only been on about a week, but so far just having a place to put my WIPs, Queue, and Stash info is the best part for me (and searching for uses for yarns I have!). I find the discussions here easier to navigate, so I enjoy Crafster more for that.

I am spending a little less time on Craftster now that I'm on Ravelry, but craftster is still somewhere I check everyday, browse through the projects, get inspiration; I'm a multi craftster too, so Rav doesn't cover everything.

The major change I can think of is that I spend less time looking through the forums of crafts I don't do; by the time it got into the evening here I had alread read through all the forums and looked at the FO of the crafts which interested me, and it was a bit "hmm, need something new to look at, lets check out the glass forum!". I don't really get there anymore.

I also find that on Rav I can discuss things not related to my crafts. Don't get me wrong, I can go on for hours, but its also nice to have somewhere to discuss larger political and social issues, connect with people who share the same passions I do, and then have message boards for those groups.

Craftster still has a strong hold on my heart Wink. I'm in the craftster group on rav.

I think Ravelry is affecting my "life" use.... and I just got my invitation last night. (I'm "Talia" on Ravelry... feel free to friend me!) Then again, I think there seems to be a "first week" syndrome where you go crazy playing with the features and putting up things in your notebook.

However, Craftster's boards are still unique. I feel like they can't be replaced, since they go across so many different crafts. I've seen a lot of cross-referencing between boards, too... Something you won't get on Ravelry.

I check/post here just as little now as I did back before I got into Ravelry.

I actually got my invitation a few weeks ago and haven't been on there much at all, maybe twice max.  I don't know, Ravelry seems so............overwhelming or something.  I'm also a multi-crafter (knit, crochet, stencil, sew) so Ravelry doesn't cut it as far as all that goes.  I <3 Craftster and I don't think there's anything that will make that not so.

I don't use any of the boards, chat features, etc. of ravelry. Thats ir reserved for here, I like the interaction.

One of the thngs I really appreciate about ravelry is though that I can find all the different sub yarns people use for a pattern and I also really love the pattern browser... It takes no time at all to find a free pattern for a cardigan with a hood for example.
