Thanks for the compliments, everyone! Since I gave it away as a gift, I'll have to choose another pattern to try from the book and then make one for myself!

And elizabeth, it really wasn't too hard. The hardest part was trying to keep the crochet piece flat while I sewed it onto the fabric. I used a lot of pins...and many curse words...and a few band-aids...  Grin

wow, that is really cute!  i just love small pouches like that, i seem to collect them!  what kind of thread did you use?  or yarn?  would it have worked out ok if you crocheted both sides?

I used Aunt Lydia's "Fashion Crochet Thread" (100% Mercerized Cotton), Size 3.

And, I bet it would have worked out just as well, if not better, if I had made it wider on longer and folded it in half. Good thinking!

I want to make one for myself, so I might try your suggestion! I was just trying out a pattern from the book, so I just made a swatch, originally. Hmmmm...now I'm even thinking I could add a flap to cover the zipper...I have plenty of the thread and I have extra fabric...all I need is a zipper...hmmmm...

If you find yourself saying "But I can't do this subject...", Try adding the word "YET". Keep trying and never give up. It is only a matter of time when you will finally succeed.
