I bought my first issue of IK, and I cast on for Josephine tonight. I hope I have enough yarn. Its an unknown yarn from a bag my grandmother gave me (which means it's probably acrylic) I haven't worked with a synthetic in a million years, but I'm excited to see how it turns out. Anyone want to knit this up with me. Please?? I'm ever so needy. Grin

Here's a crappy cell phone pic to entice people to join, or to entice people to laugh at the fact that I'm so desperate I'm using a cell phone pic to entice people.

I really like this pattern.  I am wondering what a good sub would be.  I just bought a bag of Rowan Cotton Glace in a pale apricot shade.  I think that might work out.  It's a really cute pattern.

I used the wpi chart they gave in the back, I think I'm using some sort or red heart but I got the 19 wpi and my guage came out okay. I added a knit row before I started the pattern because I thought the yo on the first row looked wierd without it.

I'm in - this is one of my favourite patterns in the new issue - maybe I'll pick up my yarn on the way home. I'm currently making a sweater for the boy, but it's a big thick wooly sweater - not so fun to knit in the summer!

Yeah, I have 2 or 3 projects in wool but it was so warm in the area the past few days I just couldn't bring myself to work on them. Then I picked up IK and saw this top and thought it would be a nice project for the long weekend. I just finished the first pattern repeat on the lace. Once you're a few rows into it you can kind of figure out where the pattern will go. Having all the stitch markers they call for can be a pain but they make knitting the alternating patterns as mindless as possible.

Here's another progress pic (better quality this time)

Through some internet research I found I am knitting with red heart  Tongue luster sheen. I finished two repeats of the lace pattern and now I'm about ready to start the decreases. Its amazing how quick this is knitting up, I may have it finished in time to enjoy the warm weather, which would be a first b/c usually by the time I finish my summer sweaters its 30 degrees out.

It looks great. I love this pattern and plan to go out and by IK this weekend. How do you like working with the lustersheen?

I'm not a huge fan of redheart yarn, but this one has a decent feel to it. My only real complaint is that they yarn tends to split easily so you have to watch your stitches to make sure you're not leaving any loose threads when you knit through the loop.
