Hi.  This is my first post ever.  I just finished making this "ink blot lamp" out of a tacky old yellow and white lamp from my basement, some picture frames, glue, tracing paper and black paint.  I hope you enjoy it.

thats really cool, how did you get the picture frame shade to stay on the lamp?? for some reason i have an obsession with lamps, and this would be fun to do for my kid's room.

I used a hot glue gun to secure the picture frames together and the inkblots on tracing paper into them.  To attach the frames to the lamp base I used a small piece of particle board that I cut a hole in with my jig saw.  The board fits tightly around the neck of the lamp and far enough away from the bulb to be safe. 

I used some basic acryllic paint for the ink blots and the same paint and some sealer for the base.
