Okay, I still don't know if I'm able to join (gonna figure it out tomorrow.. Tongue ) but i have some questions.

Things to send in a kit: obviously, you don't need to send something like a hammer, and obviously you'd need to send paper for scrapbooking... but there are some.. "blind spots" still.
Like if i was to send a tatting kit, I know I'd include a shuttle of some sort, because that's rare for people to have. However, say I'd offer a beaded-doll-kit... Should a beading needle be included? I know my normal sowing needles don't fit through my beads (so the assumption "craftsters have normal sowing needles" isn't enough), and I also know that the beading needle is kinda difficult to work with through fabrics, especially since you normally stuff the dolls before you do the beading...
Rambling now, I'm avoiding work Grin
But anyway, that's my question, if offering something like a beaded-doll-kit, or peyote kit, or seed bead embroidery kit... should a beading needle be included?
I'm guessing yes, and I prolly would either way if I signed up, but I'm curious what the official verdict is Wink

for something specific like that yes you would include it but for sewing stuff you don't need to include things like a pair of scissors, the best way is to dicuss with your partner what they have or don't have that way  you don't double up on supplies

I agree with Tanza.  Personally, I have no idea what a beading needle is, let alone have one.

I think (but could be wrong) that beading needles are small, really flexible needles that one would use to get the beading string through those tiny tiny bead holes.  If I were making a beading DIY kit, I would definitely include them.
Definitely check with the person you're crafting for, but I would say that you should probably assume that your partner has scissors, needle, thread, glue (the barebones basics) and not much else, especially if its a beginner kit.  For example, I know that I have TONS of knitting needles, but if I am going to send a beginning knit kit, I would assume that the person probably doesn't have any and send a pair of the appropriate size with the kit.
By all means, please let me know if I'm completely off the mark on this one.

Hey

Thankyou everyone for answering the question/s - i wasn't able to properly able to go on craftster yesterday - damn internet.

And you have all answered correctly Tongue

If the item is necessary for the kit then send it - double check it with your partner though Tongue

Stuff like scissors, thread (unless specific), thimbles,
do send patterns, specific items like felting needles for a felting kit.

hope this helps
