About 1 millions years ago I did a fabric swap, and i received some great African batiks from Lothruin.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with them, I needed something that used the fabric well, and used what little I had! I finally found the perfect pattern, Butterick 5028.  I didn't quite have enough to make the skirt long enough, so I added the contrast border. I used the green for bodice lining, which meant that I didn't have enough to make a contrast waistband Smiley

The only modifications to the pattern other than the contrast border was to adjust the back v to make it fit better, then I tacked it down so it wouldn't gape open and it allows me to wear a bra Smiley  As far as fit goes, it fits very well, and I am going to make it about with some brown linen!

Let me know what you think!

Gorgeous! It's perfect. The a green waistband would have been too much. It would have detracted from the fabulous print. It looks great on the hemline though. So cute.

thanks guys!
Miss American Pie: You have a very good point with the green waistband being too much, I think you are 100% right!

Ooooo!  It's beautiful!  You were so right to have gone without the green waistband.  It would have visually cut you in half.

Simply devine job, Tess!  You rock, as usual!
