Is it just me? Received my copy this week and I'm still not feeling it. There are a couple patterns that I like in it. A lot of, "I like, but will I make it?" I am debating if I want to keep it, since it is a nice book, or send it back. I am thinking it's the yarns they used. While I can and do sub yarns, I don't like to. Could it be all the nice tempting yarns that is turning me off?

Oh... What's a girl to do?!

I found a replacement for the airy scarf Rowan yarn. It is the same exact fiber content and $5 cheaper!!!! Plus a fine baby alpaca for my mom

Inquiring minds want to know, Booglass, what's the replacement yarn you found?

At first I thought  "Airy Scarf" wasn't too inspiring, but it actually turned out quite nice... I used this beige fingering wool with gold thread that I found at my aunt's house in Germany... I found it as an unlabled skein... which is too bad because I really like it. Anyway, I figured it would be perfect for this project!

That came out so great!  Wow.  Words cannot express how much I love that yarn.  It's absolutely beautiful. The texture, the gold color. . . Yeah, it really is a shame that you found it in Germany and it was unlabled.  Na, ja!  Sigh.

Anyhoo, I'll stop bitchin' now.  Promise.  Fabulous job, flapperjakk.  And a fine job modelling it off as well.

BTW, I'm a big fan of your blog.

I'm so excited about this book!  I had hesitated buying it before because it's a little out of my budget, but you all finally convinced me.  I'm also waiting for it from Amazon.  I finally got around to ordering Jon Stewart's book, too, and now I have to wait so long for them to get here!!!
