Oh, booglass, that's awful! Maybe you'll have to make some sort of sacrifice to appease these knitting gods. Hmm, perhaps you could order online? I'm sure it would give you some good karma to order the book from purlsoho.com, the author's online store. And, as an added bonus, they send their orders out super speedy! Just an idea.

I've been working on the angora baby booties and they are adorable! They look like little Fraggle/muppet feet. I'm going to post my pictures tonight!

Melidomi! I think I get it!  I'm going to bookmark this so I can refer to it when I make the gloves. So basically you are using two sets of needles, one set on the front and one set on the back?

I wonderif htey would think I was crazy if I ordered it from purlsoho and requested to have it signed?  I collect books signed by authors.....because I am a dork......but don't have a single signed knititng book.

Booglass, maybe I'm a big dork too, but I think that's a great idea! Wish I had thought of it, though!

I'm working on the tea cozy (of all things! but my mom asked for one for xmas) and the gauge part of the instructions doesn't seem quite right to me. On the errata part of their website they don't list anything so perhaps I'm reading something wrong, but they say to use any worsted weight yarn (if you choose not to use the $100 cashmere they recommend). So I bought some inexpensive worsted weight yarn and I'm using my own gauge because if I knit it at their gauge there would be huge holes in it. Of course I added a number of stitches, but the pattern is so simple it's not a problem to alter. It's just odd.

I don't get it   Undecided
If I knit the front then the back of the hole seperately, won't I have two unconnected flap-like things?

Booglass, they won't think you're crazy at all-----check this out (from the purlsoho website):

Joelle Hoverson
Last Minute Knitted Gifts
$24.95

If you're looking to make a gift for someone, but have run low on time, Joelle's first book includes more than 30 fun, fresh, beautiful patterns, most of which can be made in less than ten hours-some in as little as two! ......  . If you would like a signed copy of this book, go ahead and place an order online and then please send us an email at customerservice@purlsoho.com or give us a call at 800-597-PURL.

For the record, Booglass, I don't think you're a dork for collecting signed books!  That's supercool. Of course, that's just my unquestionably dorky opinion! Wink

melidomi, your instructions sound logical, but I still can't picture it for some reason.  but that's always the way with me - instructions don't always make sense until I actually have the work in front of me - only *then* can I picture what needs to happen.  know what I mean?

Okay, I finished my booties! I have to say, they took a little bit longer than I expected, but they were fun to make. I used Bouton D'or angora.
