I know there are a couple of penpal swaps floating around, but I don't thiiiiiink I've seen any exactly like this, and I, personally, would be really interested in one.

What about a swap for people who like penpals?  Not to exchange penpals, but to exchange penpal-related stuff.  Like stationery, things made with envelope/stamp themes, decorated pens, address labels, stamp dispensers/holders... umm... anyway, you get the idea.

I'd be glad to organize once I get my current swaps wrapped up, if there were enough interest.

So... would anyone else be interested?

I would like that! I just started penpalling and I just realized that writing my address on the envelope over and over becomes rather tiresome.

I know what you mean!  I finally broke down and bought a sheet of address labels the other day.  I never thought I'd get lazy about it, but somehow it's just gotten to be a pain to try to write it neatly enough for someone who might not have English as a first language (most of my penpals are abroad) be able to read it clearly every time.

That would be really cool to make personalized stationary for someone else. I am new to Craftster and maybe can/cannot participate yet,  but if I could, I'd be down...

Maybe you all could even get the blank "address label" stickers and swap one page each as part of the penpal craft swap, decorated with the recipient's address?

Yay, more interest!

I won't open signups until my other two swaps are entirely wrapped up, so that will be June sometime.  I have a conference the second week of June, so I probably won't close signups until after that, just so that I know I've got time to handle putting everything together.  Craftster says that to participate in a swap,
Quote
1 You need to have been a Craftster member for at least 1 month to participate in a swap.

2 You need to have posted at least 15 times on Craftster to participate in a swap.
Since you joined on May 17, if I extended signups through June 17 or 18, you would be able to join.  (Assuming you'd posted enough times and such.)

That timeline would work pretty well with my schedule, I do believe.  I know that's a bit long to wait just for signups, but I want to see how much interest there is first, and I want to make sure that I have enough time available to be on the ball about organizing.  It'll be my first time.  Smiley  Any complaints or suggestions, anyone, about that timeline?  Also, any requests about how long a crafting time you'd like?  Anything else?

Cool! I think that having a timeline of say a month should work... but then again, I shouldn't speak for everyone. I'll check back in the future and sign up when you decide to open it up. Until then, thanks for the heads up.

Sounds great.  I sell address labels, so that would be one thing I'd definitely throw in a package Cheesy
