Hallo!  I made these for a craft show coming up in June.  I picked out some swanky fabrics and cut the shapes out and used spray adhesive to stick them on the plates.  Then I cut slits in the holes and folded the edges in so that it had a nice finish to it.  I then brushed mod-podge over it all for a glossy finish.  Ah luvs them!  Now to convince the hubby to do it to all our switchplates!

The first one I added some puffy paint to some of the flowers.  The last one I spray mounted some a felt bird and felt plant to the front.  With the mod-podge it has a great hard-spongy kind of feeling.

These are just fabric covered.  I liked them the way they are, they're busy enough I think.  The apples one is very thin jersey fabric, so the glue kind of seeped through in bits and you can see splotchy bits.  Oh well!

thanks for looking!!

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

These are fabulous!  I'm moving into a place I can decorate soon, so I'm putting this into my ideas scrapbook.  I like the top center one best.  Elephants rock!

Oh I love the one with the felt bird and plant! That is really cute; I painted all of the ones in my real house a few years back, and I just mod podged the ones in my rent house yesterday (I'm in college), but I really like yours better.

I love these! I am in the very slow and agonizing process of working on my house. All of the switchplates have been removed for 5 years (I told you it was slow  Wink ). When I finally get a room finished, I think I'm going to try to put up a switch plate that has fabric that matches the room and if possible, the theme- crafty fabric for the craft room, book fabric for the library/guest room, etc.

Thanks for sharing!

These are fabulous, I particularly love the elephant fabric! As I'm in the process of decorating my kitchen, I am definited going to be updating my switches. Grin

Just one Q (and forgive my ignorance): what is mod podge? Is it a brand name and can I get it in England?
