hi everyone!

this post is mostly about the duvet cover that i finally finished, but also to show off how nice it looks in my repainted bedroom. so, here's before:

if you can see, our walls were a beige-ish, pink-ish, almond-ish color. we knew right away when we moved in that we wanted to change it. (we bought our house this summer.) and our comforter on the bed had beiges, tans, sage greens, etc. we'd had it forever and were pretty sick of it. so first we painted the walls a nice medium gray. but that just made our tired old comforter look even worse. so i whipped up this new duvet cover to go over it, and...

voila! i think the yellow and red look nice with the gray walls. and the underside of the duvet cover is a gray sheet that is a darker shade of gray than the walls. yay! now i just have to make the valances - i bought extra of the red fabric i used in the duvet cover. they will be solid red. i feel so accomplished i had to share with you crafty gals and guys!
