Wow, today I'm the first here...........

I haven't posted in fiber friday for a long time. But today I have something to show, so here comes...

"Poseidon" superfine Merino, 150 gramms and about 650 meters fingering weight

closeup

And a few weeks ago some friends and I visited an alpaca-breeder. We were able to have a look as the alpacas were shorn and of course I had to buy a little bit of alpacafiber..... Grin

The alpaca is named "Grace" and has a gorgeous fleece of caramel coloured super soft wool. It's the one in the front.

This was spun right from the animal, so to say.... "Grace" 58 gramms and 208 meters.

I hope, everyone has a nice weekend......

Fabulous! I love yarn you spun from the alpaca. And I also like how the blues look slightly variegated in "Poseidon" .

Thank you both.

LOL pansymouse, sorry to say, but I live in Germany. The penny was just the first coin I picked from the jar, where I store my copper coins.... Grin

Soth - great yarn and really great pictures! I've just got one this week. It's another Tiffany yarn: Tiffany blue hand dyed mixed wool and mill ends plied with sturdy holographic thread strung with lots of real pearls, even though they were mostly hiding in these pictures. It now belongs to crafty ginger.  Cheesy

Happy Fiber Friday everyone! I can't wait to see some more yarn!  Smiley

It occured to me that the fiber wasn't going to spin itself. This is 3oz of "sea mist" merino and silk I picked up at a LYS. The plan is to ply this with chocolate merino and see what happens. I only have two bobbins for my out of production wheel and haven't been able to try my had at using a lathe yet, so I'm all about plying from balls.

The at night, flash photo shows how pale the wool really is.

Some blue themed spinning this week!  Grin

Mine is a couple of weeks old already. I just never took a pitcture to show on fiber friday. So here it is:

The second picture is more reprensentative of the color. It's blue merino-tencel plied with a silver thread, 500meters, a little less than 8oz.

So much lovely stuff so far. Knitwit I always love your Tiffany yarn. I have so much spun up this week, but its all white and needing to by plied and dyed so no pics, they'd be too boring and put you all to sleep.
