So, I was drooling over this outrageously priced Prada bag and DING...thought to myself, hey I could make that!

So, here's theirs...

and here's mine...

I changed the dimensions on it only because theirs was a little too small.  I used a heavy sateen instead of quilted nylon only for my preference of the 'non-quilted' look, threw a little hot pink ribbon in in place of the black to spruce it up and ta-daa, my verson of a $300 purse!

Sorry for the yucky pictures, the bag isn't as distorted as the camera made them out to be, I promise! Smiley

I like it I like it a lot, 300 bucks for a purse is so wrong.

Very nicely made - and I agree - $300 for a purse if just, well..wrong!  I think yours is snazzier anyway.

well.. maybe $300 for that Prada purse would be worth it....if it had $290 inside it.  Grin

That's hillarious!  Yes, sadly to say I had to change the dimensions on the Prada only because I have to carry a checkbook instead of a platnium Visa card.  Wink

Thanks for the kind comments.

I like yours a lot better. I somehow don't prefer the quilted look on bags, at least not the 'regular' squared type of quilting. I do like random quilting or freeform designs.

Your bag is great. I like the shape better and the pink ribbon is definitely punchier. Good job!

Thanks again, everyone.  I think next time I make one I will try a brocade type fabric and ixnay the piping b/c it was difficult to apply and not quite as nice looking as I thought it would be....now I'm just waiting for the brocades to go on sale at JoAnn's!  Wink
