i made it for my son who recently turned one. i took the whole thing apart before i painted it which made it a lot easier. i primed it with plastic primer first but that stuff doesn't stick real well to little tykes toys so anytime it bumps something the paint chips off.  the "wood" is contact paper. i think its real touristy looking. haha. yep well thanks for looking.

And the After:

i got the idea from this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=55589.0

That's so awesome! I always look at that woodgrain contact paper and wonder what the heck you'd do with it. And the hula girl is perfect.
I love the one from the original post too. I don't have kids, but I totally want to gussy up one of these cars myself and just keep it around the house!  Wink

Great job!

Thanks for the inspiration.  My daughter has one of those little pink Harleys and now that she's outgrown it, we've wanted to boy-a-fy it for the grandkids.  Looks like thar be projects ahead cap'n!

How freakin awesome!  I loved the other cars, and this one is just as cute.  The hula girl is the perfect touch.  Did you try lightly sanding the plastic before primering?  Sometimes just a little bit of a rough suface helps.  I can't wait to get stateside to get one for the critterling and doll up.

Cozy Coupe is the best toy ever and you've actually made it better. I love it / want one, even though I'm 19.

It makes me want my old one back so I can craft it.

Pinkadillies be careful and guard your car, I heard people on craftster are looking to highjack your car and give it a facelift and then you'll never recognize it.
