This is my tribute to the very witty and talented Neil Cicierega creator of the Potter Puppet Pals spoofs
(as seen here at his site ------>) http://www.potterpuppetpals.com/

I've crocheted a Puppet Snape ready to take the driver's seat ...

(Images are clickable for enlargement).

Or, if you prefer, Snape riding shotgun...

barking out directions and giving other drivers rude glances as you pass them by.

(He's not pleased to be in a flower-power-stickered VW bug, but at least it's green!)

The back of the seat cover has three black elastic bands sewn on so you just pull the whole thing gently over the seat.
Then, I crocheted two strings at the top so you can tie it around the head rest preventing it from slipping.

I haven't been brave enough to drive around with this on yet. I am too chicken. If I do, I'll let you-all know!

You are awesome!  You should put it on your passenger seat so that you are riding around with Snape.  I am so jealous.  Looks great.

That is SO awesome. Any possible way I could get a pattern? My daughter is also completely impressed with it!

Brilliant idea.  I've thought of making clutch and steering wheel covers.

I am now inspired.   Wink

I would love to know how it holds up when you do use it! What type of yarn did you use? I never thought of a seat cover. So brilliant you are!

I used Red Heart yarn in Periwinkle, white black and TLC Heathers yarn in Blue Moon for the middle part between where his robes are open and outline the arms.

The beauty of the seat cover is that it's only for the back. You don't sit on it, (which is good because I have that heated seat feature and that wouldn't be good to block up. plus sitting on it would probably drag or pull it down.

I suppose encasing it in a plastic would probably have been better for durability. But no one will be climbing all over it or anything.

Someone asked about a pattern. All I did was take this icon

and upload it to micro revolt's graphmaker here...

http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/

and then crocheted it in tunisian stitch with a size J cabled crochet hook.

Someone named Tab suggested in my blog that I go to a drive-thru at an ice cream place and order something for Snape......"Um, Snape says he's like a Peanut Buster Parfait with a cherry on top. No lid! And don't forget the spork!" LOL!!!!

That is so cool! I've been kind of obsessing about Potter Puppet Pals lately, I keep watching the sketches way too much.  Cheesy It'll look fantastic as a bag.

I showed this to my teenage son and he was quite envious!
You definitely have made me want to learn how to do the tunisian stitch.
Have you driven around with it yet?
