Wooly Mammoth (in miniature)

Hi!

This is my first plaything! A wooly Mamoth! After much brainwracking of an extinct creature I could do fo this challenge I finally decided on a mammoth mainly due to the collection of mammoth coloured wool I just inhereted.
Here he is playing in my garden.



He's only 7cm tall and consists of a tinfoil armature wrapped in wool. His ears are felt and his tusks are more heavily burnished foil.

He's a little self conscious of his butt, so please don't look to closely!

This is so cute. Love the foil tusks. And did you just get a base and wrap yarn around?

Yes, the base was made out of screwed up balls of foil in the basic shape. the legs were tiny cardboard tubes that I glued on. Then I wrapped the base with wool, securing in strategic places with more hot glue. In hindsight I would have wrapped and glued the legs on after I had wrapped the body, the legs just made it difficult to get even coverage on his side and tummy. After I wrapped him I glued on the ears, tail and tusks.
