Hello
I was in a intermedate weaving class this semester and we concentrated on rug making techniques and tapestry
I painted a design and then wove it

They use rachone(sp?) and flosa

the yarns are stash busters with a lot of hand dyed, the large piece uses lamb's pride bulky and more hand dyed and leftovers

12" by 12" mounted on stretched black velvet

39" by 42"
off the loom ^____________^ I wanted to run around with it tied to my back like cape wendsday when I finished it

at the student show ^^

 Thanks for looking

Wow pretty.  Very nicely mounted and displayed as well.  (most rug making techniques are the bane of my existence!  Ok, well only some, but still.)

I love this so much.  I'm really inspired to do something like this now.  (I know I won't be able to do it for a while, but someday soon I will!)

Is it weird if I say it looks like a map of a country?
...I also see a hummingbird... (the yellow and red parts.  The red is it's tail.)

O wonderful weaving! you've got me plotting: It would be neat to make a few more and then crochet around them to make a banner or cape!
