As entered in the crochet food challenge!  It is actually very similar to the cherry pie, but with bobbles on the top rather than the sides.  Then, the brown areas on the meringue are embroidered on.

Once again, please post your finished pie slices to Craftster, I would love to see them.  Also, please do not use the pattern or the product for profit.  Thanks!

Pop the bobbles on the "wrong side" out to the right side.

Assemble the pie together and stuff firmly.   Make sure you stuff the bobbles!  I whipstiched the filling to the crust, then finished the piece by sc around the crust (make sc through both the crust yarn and filling yarn).  This hides the whipstiching and also makes a slight overhanging lip of crust so that the filling doesn't bulge past it.

Using tan or beige yarn, embroider a star shape onto each bobble.  I made an X with a line through the middle, and then made a little knot at the peak to give it some added texture.

Enjoy!

If you would like your meringue to be more "random", you can space the bobbles on the top randomly.

YOU are the BEST!! Thank you for this pattern, too!!  I decided to check today to see if you happened to post this pattern, and you did!!  I LOVE IT!!

I would love to get one of those single pie slices from the freezer section of the grocery store and remove the real pie and put this one in the box!  It looks SO REAL!  Fantastic JOB!

Once I get the right colors of yarn for the pie crusts, I will be making your tarts, cherry & blueberry pies, and this lemon pie!!

Thanks!
Kelley

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?
