I always felt that the Praying Mantis was a regal looking insect. The quotes are from Norma Desmond, the fading silent film star from the movie Sunset Boulevard. She was once Hollywood royalty, too bad she was crazy as a loon.  Wink

Ahhhhh, love these.  The style, the face, the mix of flat and 3D.  Beautifully crafted.

Funky fun!  Are they part digital, or what?

Thanks!

Not digital, but the original praying mantis images were printed on cardstock from photos. Then I inked them around the edges with a gold Brilliance ink pad and I just used a regular black ink pen to add the details on the mantis. It turned out to have a lot of depth, which I really liked.

Coolness! Thanks for sharing; that makes sense. I always like that part of seeing people's work. Smiley
