It happened like this:

I had cross-stitched a dragon design for a different coworker who collects dragons, and framed it in a trivet.  She loved it, as did a second coworker, who not-too-subtly said, "You know, my birthday's in May..."  (Whoops, I just gave it away!  Cheesy)  Luckily, I knew the second coworker loves cats, and had the perfect design in mind.  It's a Mini-Kats design from Kats by Kelly.

Excuse the flash glare, please, I used this photo because you can see the blending filament sparkling.  And although you can't tell, the eyes are done in DMC Light Effects glow-in-the-dark.  Also, I think I am in love with trivets as a framing alternative.

Thanks for looking!

Please share about the "trivets" for framing. I'm very curious to know what you used.

Thank you!  I got my trivet from Michaels, they're kept right by the acrylic coasters in the stitching aisle.  You get the acrylic trivet, with a piece of self-adhesive mounting board and a cork backing.  Very simple to put together, but functional, too!  Smiley
