awesome find Smiley It reminded me of something I'd totally forgotten about until now - when I was in primary school my teacher was making a quilt exactly like this. She taught us how to help too. Anyway good luck with finishing it Smiley

It's so very retro. I'm totally in love with it! I lucked out at a garage sale and got a quilt made back in the 40's for $10. I love all the vintage prints in that quilt.

I started a quilt like that ever so long ago, they are a pain to do and I gave up and turned it into something else. It was so long ago that I can't remember what I did with it. Bless you for finishing something that someone spent time on and never finished.

I love it!  I've been looking at patterns today to try to get some inspiration on a new project and this one is just great.  Lots of fabrics, and great shape.  Plus, how can you beat such an inexpensive treat.   Grin Good luck on finishing.

hah thankyou all! really lovely to hear Smiley

little update, the quilt is STILL in progress (i know i know-lisa get your skates on...) ive discovered the phenomenon known as craft swaps...so im sure you can understand it still sitting in the 'to finish' pile (longer than my to do pile... Roll Eyes)
however im moving out soon and id desperately like it be finished for then...so i really will finish soon!
in the meantime i just drool at everyone elses quilts on here and go 'oh man i wish i could finish that today...'

apalone, you should go for it. yeah theyre time consuming but so so easy to do, just make yourself a bunch of hexagons up and sit and veg infront of the telly -it just grows.

That is soooo pretty. I have to learn to do hexagons... they just seem more organic than squares.
