I recently finished this skirt. The pattern is in Greeting from Knit Cafe. It is also the skirt she is wearing on the front of the book. I made an oops in the beginning on the lace pattern at the bottom, but I just kept with it the whole way through and it turned out fine. There is a picture of me in the skirt from the front and back, the skirt laying on my bed, and then a close up of the lace work where it meets the solid part of the top.

I have to say that this is probably one of the most time consuming projects I have completed, but I am very happy with the results.

very pretty! this is one of the nicer knitted skirts I've seen. I can see how time consuming it must've been...those stitches are TINY!  Shocked

what do you think of the knit cafe book? is it worth buying?

Thanks for your compliments! It is good to hear it from other knitters and not just from my husband!

In reply to the tiny stitches, I did it on size 6 and the lace was on size 5 (or maybe it was the other way around...) It didn't seem so bad until the last half of the last panel. I couldn't wait to finish!

As for the question is Greetings from Knit Cafe worth buying, well I don't really think so for me. I got the book from the library. Sometimes I go buy the book after I take it back to the library, other times I don't. This one I didn't. It has beautiful pictures and a large variety of patterns, but the skirt was the only pattern I personally liked.

Well done! I love the color and it's beautifully knitted. I have that book and the skirt is on my to-knit list but I really badly want to make the shawl first Cheesy . Want to do it together? I'm thinking of going down to the store itself (I live an hour away-ok more like 30 min but you have to account for LA traffic.bah) to see what it's like.

Good job on the lace.  The more knitted skirts I see, the more I am wanting to make one.

I haven't lined it. The knit is pretty tight, and I guess I haven't decided if I want to yet or not. Thanks for all the compliments. Thewench- If you go to the store let me know if you like it. I would be very curious to know what the store is like.
