Hi,
Does anyone know of where I can buy polymer clay in the UK (more specifically merseyside)? I fancy having a go with it, I remembered having some when I was little, but after trapsing round toys r us this afternoon I dont know where to look. Ideally I would like to get it from an actual shop rather that on t'internet but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Vicky

Hi,

Check out this page for places to buy clay overseas:
http://www.glassattic.com/polymer/supplysources.htm
(... click on Non-USA... however, some people from Europe still buy clay from the US using special techniques to get it cheaper)
Sue Heaser's PolymerClayPit would be the main place.

As for buying locally, I'm not sure, but you might want to ask members of the British Polymer Clay Guild where they buy their clay locally, and which brands are available where:

Good luck!

Hobbycraft.
That's where I bought mine, there are quite a few hobbycraft stores across the country, but then again I live in london.

Cool thanks for that. Theres a hobbycraft in warrington and chester so I'll have to have a look there. Also thanks for the links for online stores, Once I've had a go and I know what I'm doing a bit more I will have a look at buying online. I prefer not to get things off the internet at the moment cos my flat has a stupidly small post box, which means whenever i get anything delivered I still have to go and pick it up so may as well have bought it from a shop!

Anyway thanks for the info:)

Most art shops (even wee ones) sell fimo soft. It's not exactly my favourite clay (too soft!) but it's easily available if you want to try it. It isn't actually a bad clay, I just have warm hands and it gets kind of squishy. I've also seen kits for kids in toy shops.

I've seen a lot of Fimo and Sculpey and Ebay, not sure if the prices are good or not.
