For my Chemistry class were are supposed to make a visual representation of the pH scale. My teacher wants use to make it "3D". I've thought of different colored jello's in a tube, but jello has to be refrigerated, so that wouldn't work. I also started doing little clay blocks but, everyone else is doing that. I was wondering if any of you could help me come up with a creative and quick idea.  Grin

Could you use different coloured pony beads somehow?

you could definately do jello, still!

it'll just take a lot longer.
pour a layer, put it in the fridge.
pour another layer, put it in the fridge. so on and so forth.

Bake a cake, or a row of cupcakes, and use different colors of icing.

Do it in jello but use the jello jigglers recipe, then it is more like gummi worms.

if your worried about the jell-o melting you can put the project in a small cooler maybe? Or you could use different colored jelly beans in said tube lol

You could always use coloured sand/sugar in a clear container or bottle.  I remember doing that sort of a craft when I was a kid, and the layers look really neat.  I think we used drink mix for the colour?  Just make sure you fill it all the way or else it'll get all shaken up and mixed.

i don't know what crafts you do but here are three ideas:

dye roving or yarn in the colors needed and arrange.

paint foam/styrofoam balls and hook them together

origami(someone posted a halo the other day using rainbow colors of origami paper)

good luck and look forward to seeing what you craft

Buy an old bathroom scale from a thrift store and paint stripes or decoupage it with the pH colors for a "pH scale"?
Use metal or plastic numbers painted in the correct colors?
Make a beaded bracelet or necklace?
