You made a tutorial so i feel the need to post this: I finally made something of the paisley ties i've had in my closet for years.

the front and back, plus i added some 'ears'  mostly to keep it weighted on my head because it didn't fit very snugly

very silly hat. thank ye

thank you so much for the tutorial! i had a bunch of ties lying around taking space that nobody in my family would wear but i didnt want to get rid of them because they belonged to my late grandfather.  so the hat was perfect - takes up less space and is something i would actually wear. the only things i added were leaves (cuz it looks like a flower) and i took some of the tie leftovers and braided them together and put a buttonhole at the end so you can button on a tassel.

Great idea for old ties!  I love it! I might have to check out the husband's old ties and ask him if I can make a hat out of them!  Thanks for the Tute!

I remember seeing this a long time ago but I forgot all about this. I'm so glad somebody bumped this thread! I've been collecting ties for a while and I'd originally thought I was going to make a skirt with them, but I don't know what material they're all made from so I don't know how to wash the skirt if it ever was made. But, I don't think I'd wash a hat.

This is the cutest tie-recon idea ever! I want to go home right now (I'm waiting for a class that starts in two hours in college) so I can't do it now, but I really want to! It looks like a quick and easy, fun project! I've just made wrist cuffs out of my ties so far, so this'll be exciting!

Love to see the ties used in something other than a skirt!
