but I just had to tell someone sympathetic!
I was running late for a job interview today, and when I slipped on my new shoes, I discovered that the darn things wouldn't stay on when I was wearing nylons. Crap. Not having time to go get those no-slip thingies from the drug store, I did the only thing I could think of, with the tools at hand...

I totally glued my feet into my shoes.

It sort of worked, too, but I didn't add glue to the part that my heel rests on, so I still had some issues and had to walk really REALLY slowly. But my shoes stayed on! And they had me come back the same afternoon for a second interview! And I didn't even tell them about my brilliant foot-gluing scheme!!!

LMAO!  Now that's creative!  I bow to your inventive gluing skills.  YOU ROCK!

By the way: Have you ever watched RuPaul's Drag Race?  (A great show if you're Ok with that kind of thing...)  Anyhoo, one of the queens hot glued some fancy-dancy lace to his/her legs and wrists!  Screeching and hollering the whole time but dang if that queen didn't win the challenge that day.  So totally worth it for him/her.

I hope it was worth it for you! When you back for the second interview, did you re-glue? Keep me posted on whether you won the job!

I had enough time between the first and second interview to get some of the no-slip heel thingies, so I didn't have to reglue and I could walk at a normal pace!

And hot glue? That's just ridiculous! (I say with the irony of knowing gluing clothing to your body in general is pretty silly...)

I should find out about the job in the next few days, so I'll post about it. Here's freakin' hoping!

Congrats!  That's way cool!  Lucky glue indeed.  Do you think you'll ever tell your new co-workers about your glueing?  Or will that be one of those better left unsaid secrets?   Roll Eyes

Really though, serious congrats on landing the job!  It's a tough market out there and glued shoes aside, you must of rocked the interview!  Way to go!
