Wow!  Everyone's yarns look great.  I have some yarn drying at home, so hopefully, I will get to share later.

Hey all!

I've never posted on FF's because for some reason I always forget, so here's a little bit of catch up.

I spun this "art yarn" from some locks somebody sent me, but I think I am allergic to something in them.   Sad  It makes me cough, but was a fun project for going un-functionally wild.  To my surprise, it turned out to actually be functional.  Who knew?

And then a bunch of fiber dyeing.  Here's a sampling:

I love fiber Fridays, it's like getting to go to the LYS but w/o the heavy toll on the pocket book! Each and every yarn is gorgeous, however, the seashell yarn calls to me. My fav places to vacation are at Monterey or Santa Cruz (beaches).

I have Fiber for this Friday!!!!
Cheesy
Now to show you......
I did some dyeing this pact week and it is dry, so I thought I'd add it in!
First, fleece dyed with Wilton cake dyes

Clockwise from top: Black, Royal Blue, Brown (goes through the center), Cornflower Blue and no taste Red.

And some yarn that I dyed at the same time!

With a wee friend of mine.....................sent all the way from Scotland for the February Wishlist swap!
Farthest wool is a mix of Black and Cornflower Blue, the fiber is Patons 100% Merino Wool, next (with the wee guy) is Knitpicks Bare fingering weight with three colours, Black, Cornflower blue and Royal Blue, finally another ball of Patons 100% Merino Wool dyed only with Royal Blue.
Hope you like it!
Fantastic stuff up today! WOW, I am in awe of the spinners! Cheesy

All the yarns look great!

I really wish I knew how to spin. How difficult is dyeing yarn? What do you use? I'm going to a yarn warehouse next week and thinking of buying some to dye, but have really limited facilities/space.

I spun this yarn from some merino I bought off ebay. The colors in are orange, deep purple, and turquoise. I call it Nile. This is my fourth attempt at spinning, and I used my Ashford top whorl drop spindle. It is supposed to be worsted weight but varies between heavy worsted and light worsted.  Wink I spun up 8 oz., this is just one of three hanks I made.

And here is the roving I used
