I just love the Summertime Tunic in this summer's Interweave Knits and wondered if anyone is interested in a KAL?

It is available as a free pattern on the website - direct link to the PDF is here.

If you're interested, there is also a KAL blog which starts June 1st.

I should be getting my yarn today, and I can't wait to get started! Who's with me?

I also liked this a lot, maybe this will be my first official KAL, Ive always wanted to do one, but was always too late.  let me go check out the yarn!!

just looked around the internet, the recommended yarn is on sale for 6.99 online, but Im not really impressed with the colors, Debbie Bliss Cathay is basically the same yarn, same fiber content and gauge, I saw some cheaper and in a more variety of colors, so I may order some DB instead

Cool! I'm in. Smiley

I'm using Rowan Calmer in Drift. I got about 10 rounds done on US 6's so far, but it's coming out a little stiff, so I'm going frog it all and try it on 7's instead. Shouldn't be too hard to account for the gauge difference as the pattern's simple and straightforward.

What do you guys think of the lack of shaping for the tunic? I'm thinking about adding a little for the waist area...

I think Cathay would be a great sub. I considered subbing with DB Cathay too, but my LYS didn't have any colors I liked.

Already planning on making this! I got a great cotton/silk dk blend at WEBS a few weeks ago in two colors for tanks... and I'm about 98% sure I'll have enough. lol. Since its a tunic i shouldn't have to add length (I add 2-4 inches to almost everything I knit) but I still worry. Worrywart is me. Smiley

Anyway, not sure when I'll start, but looking forward to seeing how everyone else's turns out in the meantime!

Ahhh, Thank you!! I've been looking for something just like this for spring/summer.. and SCORE, I can stash bust it too!

I'll be using Dalegarn Svale in a muted green color (it was a killer eBay find that never quite made it to the Somewhat Cowl I had intended it for). It's neeeearly spot-on in fiber content, and I got gauge with the recommended needles.

I just casted on, but once I get a few rows in I'll post a progress pick.

Looking forward to seeing everyone elses knits!

I just ordered some Elann Sonata in a terra cotta color.  Not sure when I'll actually get started on this, but I'm looking forward to working on a simple summer knit!

Thanks for pointing me toward this knitalong, landry! Smiley

progress! i'm loving this yarn. it's silky soft and really easy to work with (even though it has a tendency to split when i'm being extra lazy with my needles.. hehe) anyhoo, enough with the talk, here's a picture!
