So much crafting, so little time...

So, I loved the Orange You Glad bag, but I live in Florida.  The only people that have oranges on their purses are primarily tourists.  And I never wear orange.  So I decided I would revamp the purse with blues and a blueberry.  I also changed up the strips on the strap, and made the strap longer.  I put in some snap closures after the photo was taken to keep it closed.  To make the blueberry star (I'm not sure what you would call it) this is roughly the pattern:
chain 3, sl st into first loop.  2 sl sts in each back loop (6sts)
2 sl st in each back loop (12 sts)
then I tried to be random, but for each of the points I would ch 3, dc in same st, hdc in nxt st, sl st in same st.  I varied it a bit with each one, so that it would look more organic and natural.
Hope you like it! (This is my first post!)

The turquoise yarn is Bernat softee chunky, or something like that.  The blue and navy yarns were some cheap acrylic yarns that I had in my stash, I think I may have gotten them at Wal-mart, but I don't remember the brand.  The yarns from my stash were worsted weight, so I used two strands at once to match the bulk of the Bernat yarn.  I used one strand of the Bernat.

I really do like the modification you made. I have been staring at that pattern for weeks trying to decide if I really wanted an orange on a purse or not. Now I see how any round fruit would work.... I am already imagining apple, grapefruit, kiwi, grapes.......... Thanks!
