Hello everyone,

I was pleased to receive some requests for my entry into the food challenge.

I am happy to share as long as you post your own completed tarts!  Also, PLEASE do not sell the pattern or the completed tarts for profit.  That would make me very unhappy.  If you have a question about the use of the pattern, PM me and ask.

Here is the pattern for the fruit tarts:

Note:  Crochet tightly to prevent stuffing from showing, or use a smaller hook than usual.  Worked in spirals.

Yarn:  I used good ol' Red Heart Super Saver.

Tart Pastry

Make your base for a round (ie, Magic Ring, or simply chain three and work  next row into the first chain.

-Row 1:  sc 6 into round.
-Row 2:  make 2 sc into each sc, 12 sc total.
-Row 3:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, sc).  Repeat around, total of 18 sc.
-Row 4:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 2 sc).  Repeat around, total of 24 sc.
-Row 5:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 3 sc).  Repeat around, total of 30 sc.
-Row 6:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 4 sc).  Repeat around, total of 36 sc.
-Row 7:  sc into back loop only of each sc, total of 36 sc.
-Row 8-10:  sc into both loops of each sc, total of 36 sc.
-Row 11:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 5 sc).  Repeat around, total of 42 sc.
-Row 12:  make (3 dcs into one sc, 2 sc).  Repeat around.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for joining to the filling.

Tart Filling

Note:  Bobble = make 5 dc into 1 sc, but always leave last loop on hook instead of drawing through completely.  You should end up with 6 loops on the hook.  Finally, draw through all the remaining loops.  Hope that made sense!

Make your base for a round (ie, Magic Ring, or simply chain three and work  next row into the first chain.

-Row 1:  sc 6 into round.
-Row 2:  Make 2 sc into each sc.  Repeat around, total of 12 sc.
-Row 3:  sc around, but at random, make a bobble instead of a sc.  Don't make it too symmetrical!
-Row 4:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, sc).  Repeat around, total of 18 sc.
-Row 5:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 3 sc).  However, randomly make bobbles instead of scs.  Repeat around, total of 30 sc.
-Row 6:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 4 sc).  Repeat around, total of 36 sc.  However, randomly make bobbles instead of scs.
-Row 7:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 5 sc).  Repeat around, total of 42 sc.  However, randomly make bobbles instead of scs.
-Row 8:  make (2 sc into 1 sc, 6 sc).  Repeat around, total of 54 sc.  However, randomly make bobbles instead of scs.

Cut yarn.  Poke bobbles so that they are all facing the same way.

Stuff tart pastry and filling.  Make sure to use lots of stuffing and get into every last bobble!  Sew pastry to filling.  Press the bottom against something flat to flatten.  Enjoy!

Please let me know or post any corrections.

These are so cute! Thank you for the pattern!  IF I had a young daughter, I would be crocheting all kinds of food for her to play with!  Maybe one day I will have a grand-daughter and make her lots and lots of pretty crocheted food!!

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?
