That sounds like an awesome recipe and the eggs are mad cute! By the way, vaseline can't be organic because it's a petrochemical (derived from oil) and not plant-derived.

The reason your balm is "melty" is because it is almost half liquid and vaseline isn't very "solid" to begin with. Adding more or harder solids (vaseline, beeswax, e-wax) will help your balm to harden.

Technically, petroleum products fall under the organic chemistry branch of science (main requirement to qualify for that is that it contains carbon atoms) and crude oil was made over a very long time from decaying plants and animals. Still I'm liking the idea of using vaseline, not for daily summer use but for those peeling lips in winter during frosty weather that could just be the thing.

Here's another vote for adding beeswax for hardness; works like a charm for my coconut oil gloss, I'm *guessing* vaseline works similarly. There's also different hardness of vaselines on the market and some come with vanille flavour added already. For color, there's special colouring powders for lipstick on the market but I'm not sure how natural those are (whether they're just clay or something else entirely).
