I found this recipe somewhere on Craftser months ago. But I never had the time to test it. Until today.

Honey-tastic Lip Balm - Honey flavor, all organic, home made lip balm!

3 teaspoons vaseline
2 1/2 teaspoons honey
2-3 drops of vanilla flavor
balm container. I used plastic jelly beans that i found last month at easter time. You can use anything like a plastic bubble from a bubble toy machine. You can also use an empty lip balm container or buy tubes from cosmetic stores.
you can also add food dye or coloring, but i haven't tried it and i don't know if it will also color your lips.

directions:
Mix vaseline and honey in small bowl. Add vanilla flavoring. Mix for about five minutes or until it's completely smooth.
Spoon into gloss pot or whatever you are using. Set timer for 25 minutes. Set inside fridge with no top on. After twenty to thirty minutes, get out your lipbalm/gloss and check if it needs more time in the fridge. Put on or package it and add a label. This makes a GREAT gift for all kinds of girls!

Hope you enjoy it as much as i do!

I have been wanting to make my own lip balm/gloss for so long, but could never afford the pricey kits (besides, they come with lotion as well, something I'm not interested in making).  I'm going to try this tonight!  The jelly bean packaging is so cute!

Question: where can I buy the vanilla flavor?  Is it in the cake decorating section of craft stores?  Can I use "cooking" vanilla?

I wish I had a Trader Joe's here.

OMG, so I made this last night.  I couldn't find any vanilla flavor/smell, and I didn't want to use the stuff in my cupboard.  I used almond extract instead.  Honey-almond lip balm- so tasty.  Thanks so much for sharing the pattern!

Ohh almonds! Yummy!
I'm curious what did you use for a container? Post up some pictures!

My only problem so far is that it melt really fast. And i don't know if it's because its unbearably hot here, or there is a problem with the balm. I've been having to keep it in the fridge which isnt any good cause i can only use it at home.
Today the weather has cooled down so i'll try to take it out.

Oh, yes, the almond smells sooooo good.  I'll post a pic this weekend- I have to use my bf's camera/computer to do so.

I'm having the melting issue too- it's really goopy.  I found a few recipes online that have beeswax in them.  I'm going to try them tomorrow, and I'll let you know how they turn out.  I would think that the beeswax would make it not melt.  I'll post the recipe as soon as I know it'll turn out well.

As far as containers, I got an 8 pack of lip things for $3.99 at Joann's.  There are 4 lip gloss pots and 4 "chapstick" tubes.  I believe Michael's carries them as well.  If you don't have either store where you live, they both have websites you can order off of.  I found the containers and beeswax in the soap/candle making section.

I hope this post isn't too long!

I'm going to a birthday party tomorrow and i wouldnt have time to try a new recipe so i'll make one with a note:
Special Sex Balm. Use for heated nights. Warning: Keep refrigerated 'til then.

I think she'll like it. Thanks for the beeswax tip. I had no idea where to find it.

Here is the lot: Black tissu paper to wrap the lip balm, Leopard card with explanation inside, envelope, and lastly the lip balm. I still have to go buy white stickers to write "SEX BALM" on the jelly bean. I've tried just writting directly on it using permanent marcker -used for cds and such- (seen in pevious pictures) but it wipes off. Plus I will need brown ribbon to top it off.

She said no presents but it's her birthday and I can't not give her one. So its small. And so she absolutly can't refuse, I'll put it in her fridge without her seeing. Knowing her, she'll find it next Tuesday
