I understand not being able to post the pattern, but can you give us specifics on which exact magazine, issue, year, month, etc. this appeared in?  I tried searching for "Martha Stewart Holiday Handmade Gifts magazine" on google, and it came up with 2984239058307 billion Martha Stewart magazine and book titles, so I have no idea what to look for.  Maybe we can get a scan of what the front cover of this issue looks like?  I'd like to be able to buy the magazine and make one myself.  Thanks!

I believe there is a link to a sock dog tutorial in the patterns list on the discussions and questions page of this board.

thanks for the reference!  It's not -quite- the same, I kinda like the simplicity of this sock dachshund over the one listed there.  Oh, well, I'll keep trying to find the right magazine.  Thanks, though!

That is too cute! I have a mini daschund and now have to find socks that look like him so I can make him a tiny clone. Thanks!

I think I found the martha pattern online. Try here http://www.thefabricofourlives.com/Lifestyle/SockToysDog/?S=Lifestyle
