I just love that!  So cute (both the bag and your son) -- and that's awesome that you're fostering his independence!!!  (sorry, spoken like a true school psychologist  Wink )

You've inspired me.  The bag looks wonderful.  Wondering if you'd be willing to share a little info about how you made it.  Is it just a casing at the top?  And what did you use for the straps?

That's too cute, I bet he loves it. I wonder how long it will be until it's full of toys and too heavy to carry, so Mom or Da will hafta take over again. Wink

It's really just a drawl string bag.  There a little loops sewn into the bottom corners and the draw strings are tied to them to make the straps.  I lined the whole thing because I'm crazy like that but you could use a casing. The straps are made of strips of the lining fabric but it would be a lot easies to use cording.

I found this tutorial for a child's size bag that gives some great directions.
