I was inspired to make my own needle roll after seeing this one  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=69952.msg659223#msg659223

I made it for my scarf pal on the International Scarf Exchange.  It's my first attempt and I'm very pleased with it.

The fabrics are left overs from other projects including the shirt and a blouse that had never been worn.

Christmas?  CHRISTMAS???  Actually, I thought the same but you gotta work with what you got!   Grin

When I asked my hubby for an opinion he also chimed that it looked Christmassy!  Angry  My daughter thinks it looks like a napkin!

Never mind though.  I think the silky blossom fabric & ties break it up a bit.  Also, the green is not a christmas green..... more like a muted lime green.

Perhaps I should make another one in different colours for my pal and keep this one for myself.  Hmmmmmm.  That means I'll probably have to go shopping to buy fabric.  How awful!! Mwahahahahaha  Grin

I got a bit inspired and made one too - quasi-kimono style.  It's made entirely from upholstery fabric scraps I found at a local re-use craft store:

I left plenty of space to allow my needle collection to grow:
