I've long been an admirer of I-Spy baby quilts, amazing amount of piecing!! My mom made one for my kids, it's awesome for trips and places you need them to be quiet. Here's hers...

A friend was expecting and I decided to cheat and make an easier version of the I-Spy. I'm just not into cutting tons of little pieces, I do more paper piecing and big applique. So here we are, the first is the one I did when we did not know the sex, I asumed it would be a girl (as they already have 3 girls). Obviously I asumed wrong! So this one is waiting here for a baby girl to be born...

And after she had a baby boy (yay!) I whipped this one up in, seriously, 3 days.

The best is going out and getting 1/4 yd of the craziest prints, they HATE you when you bring a 20 bolt stack and only get 1/4  Angry

Good work!

So cute! I don't have the patience for the full version either.  Those nasty looks are exactly why I love the remnant bin.  Grin

I love I-spy quilts, and I really like yours & your mom's.  I'm just waiting for someone to get knocked up so I can make one. Wink

I think you could also keep your eye open for fat-quarters, and some quilt shops have 'quilters candy' little 9x11" squares.  But I'm not allowed to buy any of that until I finish up the quilt I'm working on!

Also - I don't think you're lazy at all!  I like the I-spy quilts that alternate between picture blocks & solid blocks.  There was one I saw that was all triangles, and the overall effect was that the picture blocks were 'hidding'.  So it works.

i love it!

and i work in a fabric store and i really dont mind cutting 1/4 pieces... but only as long as its fun fabrics... and if the person is nice... i really like to chat about what they are making...  nothings worse then having to cut for rude people who "are in a rush" i like to go slower then....

anyways, i relly like your quilt and hope one day i can get better at quilting...

Awww thanks guys!

The Blues Clues is from our one fabric store in town, Hancocks. Yup, one. They only had the one in blues, the others were in pinks featuring Magenta. My 2 year old is a fan too, but I would be in so much trouble if they made Wiggles fabric  Wink !

Ugh I feel your pain.  All the fabric stores near me, are no where near me.  I don't have a hancock fabric by me, but my mom has one super close to her.  I will have to ask her to check it out!

Thank you. Cheesy
