Hi! Man, I sure had fun with this project!
I'm in the middle of a move, so a lot of my "packing time" became "felt picnic time" really quick! If I would have been able to devote more time, there's lots of things I thought would have been neat! Maybe I'll continue adding to this set and give it to my second cousin for his 6th birthday!
Ok, without any further hesitation, I present to you, the Yummy Felt Picnic:

Mmm! Sandwich, a pickle, chips, watermelon, fruit salad, and two cookies!! Sounds like my kind of lunch!!

Ham and smoked cheddar cheese, tomato slices, and a little mustard on whole grain white bread. (The mustard is needle felted on, as well as a little natural creme roving on the outside of the bread to give the grainy texture. The tomatoes were punched on both sides with the felting needles until the red felt started to poke out through the white portions of the tomato sections.)

Oops, I already took a bite out of the pickle wedge. I got hungry.

Now with even more chips!

Watermelon is definitely my favorite summer fruit. This one happens to have seeds, but I usually get the seedless kind. (Light green stripes on the bottom are needle felted on)

The fruit salad consists of bananas, peach, pineapple, red apple, blueberries, and kiwi. Mmm.

And for dessert, a double stuffed chocolate sandwich cookie and a sugar cookie with icing and sprinkles!

A close-up of the strip-woven basket.

Everything nestled in its little basket, awaiting finding the perfect park and a good book.

Thanks for looking!
