Sorry, couldn't resist...

I've shut my server in behind closed doors in the bookshelf, and so it won't get overheated, I had to cut some ventilation into the side for it...

Boyfriend was very helpful and ran the vacuum constantly close to my drilling and sawing, so the neighbours won't hate us for littering as well as being noisy! Cheesy

Now I just have to get a LED exhaust fan for my server, so it'll light up the tree from inside... Wink

(PS. this isn't really a recon, more of an addon.. or.. removal-on.. thingy)

Thanks! Smiley
I didn't really freehand it, but almost Wink I freehanded the tree with pen on some cardboard, and taped that to the wood. Then I decided most of the branches didn't look too good, so... the bits that look good there on the finished version are the bits I freehanded Cheesy
(the two major middle branches at the top)

thank you all Cheesy
It's really very easy, you just have to draw the outlines, and drill a hole in each tip of branch/root. Then you put your sawblade through one of the holes
(a saw like this http://www.sveden.com/uploads/STE%20135%20plus.jpg )
and follow your outlines. It's easy as long as you don't have to make any sharp turns, so start out with the straightest way you can go, and from there you can take things that stick out to the sides. The saw cuts this stuff like butter, so all you need is a little patience Smiley

Nice job. Great creativity. I too would love to see it all lit up. I did a computer desk mod too not too long ago  ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=148658.msg1471165#msg1471165 ), but yours looks more practical and I love it. Keep up the great work.

Very awesome.  I have my current PC in a server case, but I'm going to be giving it a new home.  I was actually thinking of screwing the components into a bookcase of some sort, for easier access to clean and swap out hardware.  I might have to steal your ventilation idea.
