I've been wondering if my friends do an intervention if I do the entire cast from Star Wars.

I should have used a smaller hook, or bought more Glitterspun to stuff him with, but I got impatient.

I wanted to do the chest detailing, too, where his pecs are outlined like the circle on his belly -- but it always looked like he was wearing a bikini. So funny, and so, so wrong.

C3PO's eyes are kind of lit up in real life (well, in movie life), so I used yellow thread to embroider that on, then outlined it with yellow yarn. I'm not terribly pleased with how it turned out, but you get the idea.

I am pleased with his legs, though. In movie life, his knees are horizontal cylinders. This turned out pretty well. (In real life it looks better.)

His arms have those shock-absorber things connecting the forearm to the bicep.

Here he is with his pal.

Oh heavens, no -- I mean, I wouldn't sell it, I'd give it to you.

The thing is, I just kind of wing it. I have worked out kind of a general template for humans (droids, wookies, etc), and then it's all about yarn selection. C3PO was easy -- just gold Glitterspun, and some black yarn at the waist. (Plus a face, plus some random colored yarn to look like wires over the black part of his waist.) Chewbacca was fuzzy brown. Han Solo needed a white shirt, blue pants ... you get the idea.

It probably looks more complicated than it is. I do the kind of crocheting where you don't join rounds with a slipstitch -- just work it in kind of a spiral, whatever that's called. (I can NEVER keep some of the terminology straight.)

I do keep notes that I can write down for you, and honestly, if you've crocheted a ball, I think you'd do just fine with the notes I can provide. Let me know (you can PM me) if you want me to write it up!
