Lovely! I'm in the middle of knitting this right now, actually. One and a half more repeats to go before the edging! I modified mine to have six wedges instead of four, so it should turn out more capelike. Your photos give me motivation to work on it some more.

glccafar, I did 5 wedges.  I wanted it to be big enough, I wanted it to use up more yarn, and I like odd numbers.   Wink

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm new on craftster and I've been eyeing this shawl pattern for a while--it's time to move on from hats and scarves!  Anyway, I consider it something of a good omen that your post, one of the first I've read on the site, shows not only the pattern I was thinking about but also in the yarn I was thinking about using, with absolutely gorgeous results.  I'm definitely starting this as soon as I'm done moving out of my dorm!

That's really pretty and it looks cozy too.  The room also looks lovely; I really like the floors.  Great job!

Thanks!

KittyCreates, I'm a sucker for hardwood floors.  You should've seen my old apartment; its floors were gleamy and scratchless!   Grin  It does make it more of a challenge to block, though, so I got a foam sheet.

I'll be hanging around to see everyone's Flower Petal Shawls  Cool

I love it's large size and it's drapy-ness (i know, not actually a word). And btw, there is nothing wrong with using Lion Brand Yarn. Who says you have to spend tons of money on fancy yarn to make a quality piece. Speaking of which, I had a professor (in apparel design) who's thing was making couture quality pieces out of what others would consider to be low end materials (ex: dollar fabrics from Walmart, recycled fabrics, etc.).
