My friends are having a baby and it kick started me into a whirl wind of crafting. I wanted something geeky yet classic. i had seen this idea around the web and thought it a good place to start and customized. except to make it baby quilt sized the squares are 1" .....this was my first quilt....oh and for the quilting part.. a drunken sailor walks a straighter line on land than i did following the square edges. *shame* .. the baby is a girl, but i didn't know that when i started making it, so i choose blue because the Daddy is a huge fan of blue so thats is what i did.

what a great idea--and that's pretty impressive for a first quilt!

the baby shower went well. i highly doubt any of the ladies there got the mario bros. reference. but it was a success. and the dad to be was very excited. so i'm happy.
