I've actually finished one! It's got 16 strips (SO MUCH CUTTING) and it's awesome. I was wondering, though, how you finished off the bottom side. I cut off the strips so they were shorter and didn't mess with the shape of the rim.

These would be great as outdoor lightshades for a x-mas lights just poke a hole in the bottom. Especially after they rust they would look really cool

what do you mean finish off the bottom?  and yeah xmas lights would be cute! ive seen people make little lanterns or something like that out of cans too!

That's such a nifty project.. *adds it to ever growning list of crafts to do* Only thing is do you find the edges to be sharp? I just worry cause I wanna make some for votive candle holders, but I don't want to slice open my hand.. I am a lil accident prone.

The edges are pointy....but i dont think they'd be able to cut you....so i dont think you'd have a problem Cheesy 
   also if anyone has made any and has some pictures i'd love to see what they look like in different cans and stuff!!

I think it would be great as a little desk organizer too- to throw in paper clips, thumbtacks, etc!
