Me and my sisters have been going crazy making bowls.
1st we discovered the art of magazine bowls.
2nd we bought bags of PONY BEADS they are so darn fun to make!

And then, i decided to experiment. It can be dangerous but i discovered CD bowls!

I make record bowls....and I had considered a CD, but didn't think it would faire well in the oven...I'm off now to try it!
How do you make the magazine bowls (If you don't mind sharing?)

Do you have to scrape them off? I'm just thinking that some of my old cds have really cool labels that would look awesome as a bowl.

I tried to melt one with the label and it didn't do well. I threw it out. I may try to scrape one and see how it fares.

I love doing CD bowls - they are a quick and easy gift if you wrap them in a clear bag with a ribbon and a votive candle inside.

I just use blank CDs - they've never burned and come out quite pretty.  The metallic surface you're instructed to scratch off here melts down to be beautiful and reflective in green, purple, blue, and I'm sure other colors depending on your brand of CD.  If you only do a few at a time in a well ventilated area, it shouldn't be a problem.

I just made about a dozen using old cds that we were going to throw out anyway. The labels didn't burn and the foil part just gets all bubbly, giving it a really cool effect.
